Bike Rack Brewing Co. Appoints Joe Zucca as Head Brewer and Head of Production

Veteran brewer returns to Bentonville to lead brewing operations

BENTONVILLE, Ark. - December 2025 - Bike Rack Brewing Co. announced today that Joe Zucca has joined the team as head brewer and head of production, effective December 2025. Zucca brings more than two decades of brewing experience, including previous tenure with Bike Rack Brewing and leadership roles at both established and startup breweries across the Midwest.

Located at 801 SE 8th Street in Bentonville, Bike Rack Brewing Co. produces approachable, trail-ready craft beer and serves pub-style food for locals and visitors drawn to Northwest Arkansas' outdoor culture. In his new role, Zucca will oversee all brewing and production operations, with a focus on quality, consistency, and continued development of the brewery's beer portfolio.

Zucca's introduction to craft beer began in 1995, influenced by early pioneers such as Redhook, Sierra Nevada, Pyramid, and Boulevard. A two-year stay in Alaska from 1998 to 2000 further shaped his appreciation for beer styles from Alaska, Canada, and the Pacific Northwest, eventually leading him into homebrewing and a professional brewing career.

In 2002, Zucca joined Boulevard Brewing Company, where he advanced to brewer on the original 35-barrel German brewhouse. As part of a nine-person team operating around the clock, he helped produce more than 100,000 barrels annually. After a brief international stint at D&D Brewery in Honduras, Zucca returned to the United States and re-entered the Northwest Arkansas brewing scene.

In 2013, Bike Rack Brewing hired Zucca to lead production at its original A Street location, where the team produced high volumes in a compact facility. He later founded Hungry Hollow Brewing Company near Cassville, Missouri, operating the brewery and music venue from 2016 to 2025. Between 2022 and 2024, Zucca and his partner also helped design and engineer 39th Brewery in Kansas City.

Bike Rack Brewing will host a public meet-and-greet with Zucca at the brewery on January 29 at 6 p.m. The event will coincide with the release of a new low-ABV, low-calorie IPA, reflecting the brewery's continued focus on balanced, approachable beers.

"Joe brings a rare combination of large-scale production experience and hands-on creativity," said Jeff Charlson, co-founder and CEO of Bike Rack Brewing Co. "He understands this brewery and this market, and we're excited to have him leading our brewing operations."
